• The tradition began with Dário Pimpão who, motivated by passion and family heritage, chose to follow a path of excellence and authenticity, refusing the use of artificial colors in favor of the purity of the fruit.

• The name “Oppidum” refers to the Latin term for “fortified city” — a tribute to the historic town of Óbidos and its cultural legacy.

• In 2021, the Oppidum strain won the title of “Best Portuguese Fruit Liqueur” at the prestigious World Liqueur Awards in the United Kingdom.
