How to get there:

To travel from Villa’s Pomar do Moinho, in Usseira, to Baleal, there are several options:


1. By Car

The fastest and most convenient way is by car. The journey is approximately 20 km and takes around 20 to 25 minutes, depending on traffic.


General directions:

Leave Usseira and head towards the N114.

Continue on the N114 towards Peniche.

Before reaching Peniche, turn left following the signs for Baleal.

The route is well signposted and leads directly to the beach and the village.


2. Public Transport

Bus: You can take a regional bus from Usseira or Óbidos to Peniche and from there take another bus or a taxi to Baleal. Hours may be limited, so it is recommended to check in advance.

Train: There is no train station in Baleal. The nearest station is in Óbidos, and from there you can take a bus or taxi.


3. Táxi ou Transportation Apps

A quick and comfortable alternative is to take a taxi or use a ride-sharing service. Since the distance is not too far, the cost will be reasonable.


4. Bicycle

For those who enjoy outdoor adventures, it is possible to go by bike. The journey takes about 1 hour and passes through beautiful landscapes. However, some parts of the route may have hills and heavy traffic.


Additional Tips

Parking: Baleal can get very busy in the summer. There are some parking lots near the beach, but they can fill up quickly.

Surfing and Beaches: Baleal is one of the best surfing spots in Portugal. If you like surfing, there are several schools and surfboard rental shops.

Restaurants and Bars: The region has great bars and restaurants, ideal for enjoying fresh fish and seafood.
