The name “Pomar do Moinho” pays tribute to the region’s rich rural heritage: “Pomar” (orchard) evokes the image of a leafy apple orchard, symbolizing fertility and a deep connection to nature, while “Moinho” (mill) refers to the old mills that still dot the landscape of Usseira and its surroundings, lending the place an air of history and tranquility. The property has belonged to the family of Octávio and Sónia since 1955, when it was dedicated to agriculture, particularly the orchards that inspired its name. This family legacy, carefully preserved over generations, is the heart of the Villas’ identity.
