The origins of Ginja Mariquinhas trace back to Abílio Ferreira de Carvalho, the creator of the first *ginjinha* recipe in a tavern in the small village of Sanguinhal, in the municipality of Bombarral.

Licóbidos was founded in 1992, continuing the family legacy, and the Mariquinhas brand was launched in 2011, inspired by the famous fado song "A Casa da Mariquinhas," immortalized by Amália Rodrigues.

Today, the fourth generation of the family continues to preserve this tradition, producing Ginja Mariquinhas with the same dedication, authenticity, and respect for the original recipe.
